It can be hard to see the abstract language of the DSM 5 and relate it back to everyday life. Which is why I’ve included so many possible examples of what those traits could look and feel like.
Also as I mentioned before It’s important to keep in mind, you don’t have to have every single trait to be autistic. And It’s also important to note that your traits can change & fluctuate over time. There are a lot of different factors to account for- your stress level, your environment, the people you’re around, how safe you feel. Co-occurring neurodivergent conditions can made things seem like contradictions too. Like needing structure and routine with Autism and needing novelty and spontaneity with ADHD.
